Lily is visiting her step-mom, Anna, for Thanksgiving. They haven’t seen each other in awhile, and she’s looking forward to catching up. Before they get to more pleasant socializing, however, Anna has something to discuss with Lily. Lily doesn’t know this, but her step-mother saw her downtown just a few days prior at a restaurant, getting rather cozy with a strange man. Since she is a married woman, step-mom wants to know what on earth is going on, and hopefully talk some sense into her about the bad choices she seems to be making. When Anna confronts her, Lily doesn’t know what to say. Of course she knew that she shouldn’t be doing it, she just thought she had been discreet and didn’t expect anyone to find out. She can’t deny what her step-mother saw with her own eyes, and can only try to justify herself. Her weak excuses of being bored and just letting innocent flirting go a little too far are hardly sufficient, surely she knew what she was doing, and who knows how much farther she might have gone in time. She agrees that she does have a good husband and life, and doesn’t want to do anything to hurt him or destroy it. She was quite simply being foolish, flirting secretively with men online out of boredom or maybe desiring a self esteem boost. One thing led to another with one of them, which led to the illicit little lunchtime rendezvous that her step-mother witnessed. She thought that she could play with fire without consequence, and there really is no more to her defense. Anna is very concerned that Lily would start down a self destructive path like this at all, and intends to do whatever is necessary to put a stop to it. To Lily’s horror, her step-mother decides that the appropriate consequence for her behavior, and the best way to ensure that she never thinks about doing this type of thing again, is a good hard spanking, just like she used to get when she was younger! Lily is not at all fond of this idea, but at the same time feels terrible and ashamed, concedes that she does deserve discipline, and knows that her step-mom only wants what’s best for her.
